The hip joint is made up of the thigh bone and the pelvic bone making a ball and socket joint. This serves as an anchor for several muscles in the area. Injuries and problems of the hip joints and surrounding tissue can be from arthritis, muscle weakness and underuse, repetitive stress injuries and overuse and over stretching causing tears in the connective tissue.
All these are common and annoying side effects associated with inflammation, swelling and burning pain that can also influence the lower back and knees. Join us as we practice simple but effective yoga postures that you can practice at home to bring about improvement in your hip discomfort.

According to Ayurveda, there are 108 vital prana points on the body called marma points.
Thirty-one of these are located in the head.
Daily Ayurvedic oil massage may help increase Cerebral Spinal Fluid flow and brain lymphatic drainage by stimulating these marma points and boosting the function of the emissary veins.

Marma points are trigger points located just under the skin where pranic energy is concentrated. Knowledge of the 108 Marma points in your Yoga asana can greatly enhance your practice. Learning to identify these vital points stimulates the body’s biochemistry opening us to our inner pharmacy.
Each class will focus on particular Marma points in relation to corresponding asana progressing through the body. This six week series will be taught for practitioners of all levels
