In Ayurveda it is traditional that we cleanse the body twice a year (spring and fall) on a mono diet of kichari and colorful cooked vegetables to help prepare the body for the coming season and clean out any accumulations from the previous season. In the northern hemisphere, that means we are preparing for winter and all that season brings with it. The mono diet allows for your digestive system to rest and default any food and lifestyle habits that might have come up for you over the past few months. It’s a good, simple, easy way to check in and take care of yourself.

strength? Ayurveda calls this substance OJAS. It is regarded to be the most refined by-
product of healthy digestion and the force of stability and contentment.

yoga poses to help boost your OJAS. Workshop is open to all levels of yoga practitioners.

In Ayurveda we follow a seasonal cleanse to rid the body and mind of accumulated doshas and toxins. Between winter and spring we cleanse to alleviate excess Kapha heaviness and moisture.
To move with health into the spring and minimize Kapha related imbalances, it is important to cleanse the body of excess mucus, ama (toxins), and Kapha dosha.

You will need props: sticky mat, 2 yoga blocks, 3 blankets, a metal folding chair, yoga belt, and bolster

Join me for a free 3 day fall kitchari cleanse starting this coming Friday, October 2 - Sunday October 4. We will gather as a group online every evening at 6 PM EST to discuss the principles and routines of how to and why we cleanse. This is not a fast, but a nutritional, supportive cleanse using kitchari - a classical dish used in Ayurveda for healing and to support the digestive system.
If you wish to participate you will need the ingredients, the time to cook and some relaxation time to take care of yourself. A few days before (and after) start to eliminate things from your diet that you know are not healthy. Things like sugar products, gluten and flour products, alcohol, caffeine and anything else that you know is not supporting your wellbeing.
Friday morning through Sunday evening we eat a “mono diet” of kitchari. This is to promote the elimination of toxins and an easy healing to the digestive system. If you are interested email me and I will send you the handouts so you can get started.
